About The Position

Usercentrics is hiring a Senior Solution Engineer for MCP Manager, its governance and management platform for Model Context Protocol (MCP). The role is a technical customer-facing position focused on helping enterprises adopt AI agents while maintaining visibility, security, and control over the systems those agents can access. The engineer owns the technical side of evaluations, from discovery through proof of concept and onboarding, and provides post-sales engineering support as customers expand their use of the product. Working with Account Executives, the Customer Success Manager, Product, Engineering, and Legal, the Senior Solution Engineer leads technical discovery, tailored demonstrations, proofs of concept, security and architecture reviews, and customer troubleshooting. The position sits within the MCP Manager engineering team, enabling close collaboration with the product builders and a direct path for customer feedback to inform product improvements. This is an early-stage, category-creation opportunity in which the sales and technical playbook is still developing. Occasional travel for customer meetings and industry events is expected.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in sales engineering, solutions engineering, solutions architecture, or a similar customer-facing technical role at a B2B software company.
  • A track record of running technical evaluations and proofs of concept that convert into closed business, in close partnership with Account Executives.
  • Experience supporting customers after the sale alongside Customer Success.
  • Ability to support several Account Executives at once, manage multiple evaluations in parallel, and prioritize time across a shared pipeline.
  • Strong working knowledge of APIs, authentication and authorization (including OAuth, SSO, and identity providers), and SaaS configuration.
  • Ability to read technical documentation and troubleshoot integrations.
  • Basic coding experience, including the ability to read code, write simple scripts, and debug problems with modern tools.
  • Comfort using Claude Code and other AI coding assistants to investigate and resolve customer issues.
  • Experience supporting security reviews and vendor due diligence, and comfort discussing frameworks such as SOC 2 and HIPAA with security and compliance teams.
  • Hands-on experience using AI assistants and agents in your own work, and curiosity about enterprise adoption.
  • Experience with AI agent tooling and a background in developer tools, security, or governance software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to explain complex technical ideas to engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in an early-stage, category-creation environment where the playbook is still being written.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings and industry events.

  • Help Account Executives scope proofs of concept by identifying technical blockers, including MCP client and server compatibility, workspace access, and identity setup.
  • Support customers during proofs of concept as they configure gateways, identities, and policies; answer questions in real time over Slack or in-product chat.
  • Drive evaluations to a clear technical decision on an agreed timeline and document outcomes for the deal team.
  • Lead security questionnaires, architecture reviews, and vendor due diligence with security, compliance, and audit stakeholders.
