About The Position

The Solid Waste Foreman leads the operation of solid waste and recycling centers. The role supports the collection of solid waste and recyclables at convenience centers and ensures that centers remain fully operational. The position also assists with County solid waste goals and objectives and helps maintain compliance with Local, State, and Federal laws regulating recycling and solid waste at collection sites. Additional related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree, vocational technical degree, or specialized training equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college education.
• Over one year and up to and including two years of related experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
• Must submit to urinalysis for illegal drug use and a background check before appointment; employment is contingent on clearing both.

Responsibilities

• Support the collection of solid waste and recyclables at convenience centers.
• Ensure centers are fully operational.
• Pack and dispatch cans.
• Collect scale tickets.
• Assist in implementing County solid waste goals and objectives.
• Assist in maintaining County compliance with Local, State, and Federal laws regulating recycling and solid waste at collection sites.
• Perform related work as assigned.
