About The Position

The Solar Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician works in PEARCE Renewables Operations and Maintenance, performing operations, maintenance, and physical labor at commercial and industrial solar energy projects. The position requires regional travel to Distributed Generation (DG) sites throughout the Laredo, Texas area. Work may involve rotating shifts, varied climates, prolonged standing, and working in ergonomically challenging positions. Candidates must comply with OSHA standards and have held a valid driver's license for at least one year. Candidates residing in the Laredo area are preferred.

The role focuses on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of BESS equipment, safe work practices, and supporting field teams. Pay is $30.00–$42.00 per hour, depending on experience and other factors. Additional compensation may include performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, a company vehicle, and per diem, as applicable. Requirements

• 3–4+ years of electrical proficiency relating to electrical systems and components.
• Commitment to safety and attention to detail, including the ability to recognize potential issues and provide safe solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to meet internal and external Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
• Ability to comply with OSHA standards.
• Valid driver's license held for at least one year.

Nice To Haves

• 3–4+ years of renewable energy experience.
• Post-secondary education.
• Electrical certifications such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA 70E.
• Residence in the Laredo, Texas area.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
• Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) as an authorized person and under properly performed LOTO conditions.
• Conduct daily safety and task-planning discussions, including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
• Interact professionally with vendors and customers.
• Support site work as a team member, which may include supervising onsite field work with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Adapt to specific duties that may vary or evolve based on business and client needs.
