About The Position

NOVO Health Services provides linen management solutions to the healthcare industry, focusing on safety and infection control. The company’s regional healthcare linen facilities are HLAC accredited and use state-of-the-art processing equipment and processes. NOVO is hiring a Soiled Sorter at its Skokie facility. The role involves opening bags at a breakout table and sending linen up a belt, moving soil carts, and maintaining quality and safety standards. Candidates should be confident in decision-making, able to act quickly, communicate well, and commit to measurable performance and continuous improvement. This position is performed in a noisy, fast-paced environment and requires meeting the physical demands of the entire 10-hour shift. The role offers pay starting at $17 per hour and is listed as a full-time associate position.

Requirements

Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from the machine for long periods.
Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role for the entire 10-hour shift, including standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting 50 pounds or more, and stooping.

Nice To Haves

High school education, GED, or formal education or training.
One to two years of experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or a similar industry.

Responsibilities

Open bags at the breakout table and send linen up the belt.
As the primary cart mover, remove an empty soil cart from the belt, put a new cart in place, and move the empty cart to the cart area.
As the bag breaker attendant, break open bags.
Adhere to quality standards for soil sorting and cart cleaning.
Understand, observe, and adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
Assist with and perform other duties as assigned.
