About The Position

NOVO Health Services provides linen management solutions to the healthcare industry, with a focus on safety and infection control. The company is hiring a Soiled Sorter at its Skokie facility. The role involves opening bags at a breakout table, sending linen up a belt, and moving soil carts. The position requires adherence to sorting quality standards and safety procedures in a noisy, fast-paced environment. Associates must be able to meet the physical demands of the work throughout a 10-hour shift.

Requirements

Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from the machine for long periods.
Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job for the entire 10-hour shift.
Ability to stand, walk, reach overhead, bend, twist, push, pull, grasp, lift 50 pounds or more, and stoop.

Nice To Haves

High school education or GED, and formal education or training.
One to two years of experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or a similar industry.

Responsibilities

Open bags at the breakout table and send linen up the belt.
As the primary cart mover, remove the empty soil cart from the belt, place a new cart in the area, and move the empty cart to the cart area.
Break open bags as the bag breaker attendant.
Adhere to quality standards for soil sorting and cart cleaning.
Understand, observe, and adhere to safety procedures and policies.
Assist with and perform other duties as assigned.
