About The Position

NOVO Health Services is seeking a Soiled Linen Separator for its healthcare laundry facility in Atlanta. The role supports linen processing for healthcare partners, with a focus on safe, quality soil sorting and continuous improvement. Work includes opening bags, sorting soiled linen by item type, moving carts, and weighing and recording full slings. The position requires working in a noisy, fast-paced environment and meeting the physical demands of the job throughout the shift.

Requirements

• High school education or GED; formal education or training is preferred.
• One to two years of experience in manufacturing, production, service, healthcare, or a similar industry.
• Good analytical skills to determine the number of carts required for orders.
• Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack items from a machine for extended periods and throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds; physical demands also include lifting 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to push or pull carts weighing 100 pounds or more, and move rolling carts weighing up to and exceeding approximately 250 pounds.
• Demonstrated customer service and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Open bags at the breakout table and send linen up the belt.
• Move empty soil carts away from the belt, replace them with new carts, and push empty carts to the cart area.
• Break open bags as the bag breaker attendant.
• Sort large items, including bath blankets, flat sheets, draw sheets, and thermals.
• Sort underpants, patient gowns, and fitted sheets.
• Sort remaining items, including bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, and scrubs.
• Pull full slings away as they fill, replace them with empty slings, weigh the full slings, record the information, and hang them.
• Adhere to quality standards for soil sorting and cart cleaning.
• Observe and follow all safety procedures and policies.
• Assist with and perform other duties as assigned.
