Software Quality Engineer

Mill•San Bruno, CA

About The Position

Mill is a waste prevention technology company focused on preventing food waste through technology and infrastructure for homes, businesses, and municipalities. Its products transform food scraps into useful resources, including chicken feed. The company’s residential food recyclers have helped households divert millions of pounds of food scraps, and Mill is preparing to launch Mill Commercial, an end-to-end food-waste management solution for commercial environments. The Software Quality Engineer will join a small team and own quality for Mill’s consumer and enterprise experiences, including its website, iOS and Android apps, e-commerce flows, and the enterprise software behind Mill Commercial. The role works cross-functionally with software, hardware, product, cloud, firmware, and program teams. AI-assisted development is a core part of Mill’s software workflow; the engineer is expected to use tools such as Claude Code daily for test automation, generating test cases, and triaging failures, and to help establish standards for effective use and review of AI-generated tests.
