About The Position

AeroVironment is hiring a Software Integration Engineer to automate the installation, configuration, testing, and operational management of systems that support metrics and monitoring. The role also designs, implements, verifies, and validates telemetry data-ingestion pipelines for HPC infrastructure, equipment, and services in a Linux environment. The engineer integrates, installs, configures, upgrades, compiles, and supports COTS/GOTS software; documents the full software stack; updates software for sustainment; executes test codes to characterize software performance; and provides software product ownership for HPC tools. The position requires basic Linux system administration and shell scripting, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and switch between architectural paradigms. The position requires TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly clearance. Access to ITAR- and/or EAR-regulated information also requires documentation verifying U.S. person status; some positions may require current U.S. citizenship due to contract requirements. The advertised salary range is $167,000–$197,000. AV offers medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company matching, a 9/80 work schedule, and a paid holiday shutdown.

Requirements

TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly clearance.
Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux tools.
Proficiency with Bash or Python for developing scripts to automate provisioning of HPC systems.
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least eight years of demonstrable experience integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment; alternatively, five years of full-time, directly related Computer Science work may substitute for the degree, with at least eight years of demonstrable experience.
Ability to integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software.
Basic Linux system administration skills and shell scripting.
Ability to execute test codes for software performance characterization.
Ability to provide software product ownership for HPC tools.
Working knowledge of configuration management tools, web documentation, and issue tracking.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and switch between various architectural paradigms.

Nice To Haves

Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite, including JIRA and Confluence.
Familiarity with SAFe Agile principles, methodologies, and best practices.
Experience administering solutions related to metrics and monitoring, including Splunk.
Experience configuring and sustaining VMware ESXi or virtualization environments.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools, including GitLab CI.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code principles and automation tools, including Ansible.
Experience with the Git source control system.
An industry-recognized professional certification, which may substitute for one year of experience.
A master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, which may substitute for two years of experience.
