About The Position

Credo is seeking a Software Field Application Engineer to join the AE Team. This role involves working closely with internal AE teams and customers to ensure the product and SDK operate smoothly in customer environments. The engineer will analyze customer systems to provide clear debug instructions to the team. Responsibilities include assisting the Internal AE team in verifying and validating post-silicon Products internally and on customer environments, implementing and integrating hardware and firmware features into the SDK, developing efficient Python Automation Scripts, and testing/evaluating chip performance across various environments. Collaboration with the Design Team, Production Team, and Firmware Team is essential for debugging issues and supporting SDK software development. This position is based onsite at our San Jose, CA HQ.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related major with one or more years of experience.
  • Strong Customer Facing Skills.
  • Proficient skills in python programming languages and skills in understanding and developing codes under available structures.
  • Experiences with C and Firmware Development, familiar with Git.
  • Team oriented with strong analytical skills, self-driven with desire to deliver beyond the scope of each job.
  • Strong Multi-tasking skills to handle different requests.

Nice To Haves

  • Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related major with three or more years of experience.
  • Experience with handling and running high-speed test equipment.
  • Basic knowledge in DSP and Digital Design.
  • Knowledge in Ethernet top level including Retimer, Bitmux, MAC/PCS and MAC/Sec is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking, and ability to handle and adapt in new generations of technologies.
  • Strong teamwork orientation and collaborative approach.
  • Skills in developing automation test scripts for link-up, training and diagnostics is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Internal AE teams and with customers to make sure the product and SDK are running issue-free on customer environment.
  • Analyze customer system to provide clear debug instructions to the team.
  • Assist the Internal AE team verifying and validating post-silicon Products internally and on customer environment.
  • Implement and integrate hardware and firmware feature into our SDK.
  • Develop high efficiency Python Automation Scripts.
  • Test and evaluate chip performance on various environments.
  • Cooperate with the Design Team, Production Team, and Firmware Team to debug issues and support development of SDK software.
  • Support Customer on bringup of serdes and retimer software into their systems.
  • Use Test and Debug Scripts and analyze chip and sdk Behaviors in Customer and Internal Environments.
  • Perform System Level Verification and Validation under different testing environments.
  • Analyze and Debug High Speed Systems for different speeds.
  • Work with Internal AE teams and Design Team to integrate hardware and firmware features into the SDK.
  • Understand SLT Test Scripts and work with Production Team to run large quantity sample tests.
  • Generate high-quality reports based on customer evaluations and testing results.
  • Develop automation test scripts for link-up, training and diagnostics.
