Software Engineering Program Manager - Cardiac Ablation Solutions
About The Position
Lead software engineering teams developing and sustaining the Affera Mapping and Ablation System, a medical technology used to map cardiac electrical activity and deliver targeted ablation energy to treat arrhythmias. The role oversees software architecture, design, development, testing, and maintenance for complex medical-device software while coordinating release planning, risk management, defect resolution, and continuous improvement with cross-functional partners. The position may be based in Mounds View, Minnesota, or Newton, Massachusetts, and requires at least four days per week on site. The manager coordinates software deliverables across multiple sites in accordance with FDA and other regulatory requirements; leads forecasting, effort estimation, resource and technical planning, execution, and releases; and manages schedules and budgets. The role also advances software development practices, contributes to product strategy and roadmaps, and provides status updates to management and cross-functional reviewers. Travel may be required as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of medical product software development, IEC-62304, and FDA guidance, or experience in another highly regulated environment.
- Program management experience in a technical discipline or relevant software engineering experience.

Responsibilities
- Lead software engineering teams responsible for architecture, design, development, testing, and sustaining activities for complex medical-device software.
- Plan and execute release milestones, risk management, defect resolution, and continuous improvement with cross-functional teams.
- Define, plan, organize, and coordinate software development deliverables across multiple sites in accordance with FDA and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead forecasting, effort estimation, resource planning, technical planning, execution, and release activities.
- Manage project schedules and budgets.
- Identify and implement industry-standard software engineering development processes.
- Apply software development methodologies, including Agile practices, to improve execution, collaboration, and delivery.
- Contribute to product strategy through project and product planning, roadmap input, and tradeoff analysis.
- Provide regular status updates for management and cross-functional reviews.
- Travel as needed.
