About The Position

Salesforce is seeking a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) who combines software development and quality engineering to build, test, and ship high-quality applications on the Salesforce Platform. The role uses artificial intelligence, including GenAI and agentic tools, to accelerate software development and test automation, with end-to-end ownership of quality in a hybrid development and QA engineering model. The engineer will build scalable applications and frameworks for desktop and mobile, collaborate with architects and lead engineers on application design, and apply object-oriented design patterns. The role includes creating test suites, automated unit and functional tests, test plans, and test strategies; managing quality issues through resolution; and ensuring products meet customer expectations. The position also applies AI and GenAI tools to coding, code review, test generation, and defect triage; evaluates AI-based test automation; and may contribute to AI-powered Salesforce platform features. The MTS works with quality engineers, business analysts, and product owners, champions Agile and SDLC practices, and communicates project status and risks clearly.

Requirements

Practical experience using AI/GenAI tools, such as code assistants, agentic workflows, or AI-driven test automation, in development or testing.
A related technical degree.
At least 3 years of programming experience with a master's degree, or at least 5 years of programming experience in Java, C or C++, or Python.
At least 2 years of development experience on the Force.com platform.
At least 2 years of web development experience with server-side technologies, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Proficiency in object-oriented design and design patterns.
Expertise with web services, including SOAP and REST.
Strong database concepts and data modeling skills.
Expertise in query languages such as SOQL or SQL.
Strong fundamentals and mastery of quality engineering processes.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly and deliver on multiple projects against aggressive deadlines.
Team-oriented approach, with the ability to motivate people, instill accountability, and achieve results.

Nice To Haves

Salesforce Platform experience with Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.
Force.com platform knowledge, including Apex and Visualforce.
Salesforce Admin and/or Developer certification.
Familiarity with Agentforce, Einstein, or other Salesforce AI capabilities.
Experience with JUnit, Jenkins, Selenium, or similar tools.
Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and continuous integration (CI).
Experience with source control management systems.
Familiarity with AI-assisted test automation tools, such as self-healing or AI test-generation platforms.
JavaScript single-page application development with Lightning Web Components, Angular, React, or Vue.
Experience working on Scrum teams using Agile methodologies.
Understanding of the SaaS model and concepts.
Project ownership and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Build applications on Salesforce with a holistic mindset.
Plan, design, and implement scalable frameworks for desktop and mobile web applications.
Design applications in collaboration with architects and lead engineers.

Create test suites that follow the test pyramid and aim for 100% test coverage using efficient, maintainable tools.
Develop automated unit and functional tests in Java and/or Apex.
Develop test plans and test strategies.
Diagnose, track, and manage quality issues through resolution.
Ensure product quality meets customer expectations.
Use AI and GenAI tools, including code assistants and agentic workflows, to accelerate coding, code review, test generation, and defect triage.
Evaluate and adopt AI-based test automation, such as self-healing tests and AI-generated test cases, and measure their impact on quality and productivity.
Contribute to or build AI- and agent-powered Salesforce platform features, with attention to responsible and secure AI use.
Champion best practices in the SDLC, Agile, and software development.
Collaborate with quality engineers, business analysts, and product owners to deliver products.
Communicate status and risks clearly to the team and manager.
