About The Position

Salesforce is seeking a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) who combines software development and quality engineering to build, test, and ship high-quality applications on the Salesforce Platform. The role uses artificial intelligence, including GenAI and agentic tools, to accelerate development and test automation, while owning product quality end to end in a hybrid Dev + QA engineering model. The engineer will design scalable desktop and mobile web application frameworks, collaborate with architects and lead engineers, apply object-oriented design patterns, and implement automated unit and functional tests. The role also includes creating test plans and strategies, diagnosing and resolving quality issues, and ensuring products meet customer expectations. AI-related work includes applying AI tools throughout development and testing, evaluating AI-based automation, and contributing to AI-powered Salesforce platform features with responsible and secure use in mind. The position collaborates with quality engineers, business analysts, and product owners to deliver products, follows SDLC and Agile best practices, and communicates status and risks to the team and manager.

Requirements

Practical experience using AI/GenAI tools, such as code assistants, agentic workflows, or AI-driven test automation, in development or testing.
A related technical degree.
At least 3 years of programming experience with a master's degree, or at least 5 years of programming experience, in Java, C or C++, or Python.
At least 2 years of experience developing on the Force.com platform.
At least 2 years of web development experience with server-side technologies, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Proficiency in object-oriented design and design patterns.
Expertise with web services, including SOAP and REST.
Strong database concepts and data modeling.
Expertise in query languages such as SOQL or SQL.
Strong fundamentals and mastery of quality engineering processes.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly and deliver across multiple projects with aggressive deadlines.
Ability to work as a team player, motivate people, instill accountability, and achieve results.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.
Force.com platform knowledge, including Apex and Visualforce.
Salesforce Admin and/or Developer certification.
Familiarity with Agentforce, Einstein, or other Salesforce AI capabilities.
Experience with JUnit, Jenkins, Selenium, or similar tools.
Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and continuous integration (CI).
Experience with source control management systems.
Experience with AI-assisted test automation tools, such as self-healing or AI test-generation platforms.
JavaScript single-page application development experience with Lightning Web Components, Angular, React, or Vue.
Experience working on Scrum teams using Agile methodologies.
Understanding of the SaaS model and concepts.
Ownership of projects and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Build applications on Salesforce with a holistic mindset.
Plan, design, and implement highly scalable frameworks for desktop and mobile web applications.
Design applications in collaboration with architects and lead engineers.
Implement designs using object-oriented design patterns.
Create test suites that follow the test pyramid and pursue efficient, maintainable test coverage.
Develop unit and functional automated tests in Java and/or Apex.
Develop test plans and test strategies.
Diagnose, track, and manage quality issues through resolution.
Ensure product quality meets customer expectations.
Use AI and GenAI tools to accelerate coding, code review, test generation, and defect triage.
Evaluate and adopt AI-based test automation, including self-healing tests and AI-generated test cases, and measure their impact.
Contribute to or build AI- and agent-powered features on the Salesforce platform, with attention to responsible and secure AI use.
Champion best practices in SDLC, Agile, and software development.
Work with quality engineers, business analysts, and product owners to deliver products.
Communicate status and risks clearly to the team and manager.
