About The Position

The Software Engineering Manager for ArsenalOS Deployment leads a team of full-stack engineers building applications for daily planning, work assignment, and team-lead dashboards on the factory floor. The role sets technical direction and engineering standards, hires and develops talent, and ensures the delivery of reliable, offline-capable, mobile-friendly software that factory operators depend on. The position is part of Maritime Digital Production (MDP), the software and digital systems function within Anduril's Heavy Metal division. MDP builds and deploys technology across shipbuilding factories, including data infrastructure, the ArsenalOS manufacturing execution system, production scheduling, and AI systems. Its work bridges Operational Technology and Information Technology, with systems spanning factory-floor machines, edge compute, OT networks, enterprise platforms, and cloud infrastructure. Solutions are developed with operators, hardened for reliability and security, and scaled across multiple sites. The team is growing from a founding group to more than 70 engineers across U.S. sites.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering building production systems, including at least 2+ years in engineering management or technical leadership roles.
  • Proven ability to hire, develop, and retain high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Deep technical expertise in full-stack web development, with hands-on frontend and backend experience.
  • Strong technical fluency in modern software architectures, APIs, distributed systems, CI/CD, and cloud or edge infrastructure.
  • Experience managing teams building web applications with high-availability requirements and operational constraints.
  • Ability to balance technical execution with people management, mentorship, and team development.
  • Experience managing on-call rotations, incident response, and production system reliability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, make technical and organizational trade-offs, and drive outcomes with incomplete information.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • U.S. Person status is required because the position requires access to export-controlled data.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or OT-adjacent domains, such as MES, SCADA, PLC integration, factory automation, or IoT.
  • Background managing teams building offline-capable applications, mobile-first interfaces, or software for network-constrained environments.
  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and modern web frameworks.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems, ERP systems, or enterprise software for production environments.
  • Experience in hyper-growth, startup-like environments, including building teams and scaling engineering practices.
  • Experience managing teams deploying software to edge environments, factory floors, or operational technology networks.
  • Technical background in offline-first architectures, PWAs, service workers, and data synchronization patterns.
  • Experience with UX/UI for non-desk workers, rugged devices, and challenging environmental conditions.
  • Experience managing cross-functional initiatives involving software, manufacturing, and operations stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with frontier AI tooling, AI coding assistants, and AI-enabled software development workflows.
  • Hands-on exposure to assembly lines or production environments.
  • Background in agile software development, lean principles, and continuous delivery practices.
  • Ability to set technical standards, drive architectural decisions, and maintain high code quality across a team.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
