About The Position

The Software Engineering Manager II provides technical leadership for major projects while managing a team of engineers. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
At least 8 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
At least 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
At least 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
At least 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

Set and communicate team priorities in support of broader organizational goals, and align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
Set expectations for individuals according to their level and role, meet regularly to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
Develop and maintain the mid-term technical vision and roadmap for one or more teams, anticipating future requirements and infrastructure needs.
Design, guide, and vet system designs within the broader area, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
Review other engineers’ code and provide feedback to promote best practices in style, code check-in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
Manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and develop the engineering team.
Provide technical leadership and oversee deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.
