About The Position

T-Mobile offers an 11-week paid software engineering internship for Summer 2027. Interns receive hands-on training, work on real projects, build relationships with other interns and company leaders, and receive mentorship. The internship is with the team responsible for T-Mobile Care’s voice system, where callers are identified and can use self-service options. Interns will contribute to production systems and help improve the first moments of customers’ calls to T-Mobile.

The intern will work with engineers on IVR call flows to develop and improve self-service experiences and may help create automated tests to keep those experiences reliable. The role also includes participation in sprint ceremonies and using call data to understand how changes perform. Relocation assistance is provided to program participants who live more than 50 miles from the internship location. Intern wages range from $27 to $50 per hour; actual pay depends on education and STEM versus non-STEM designation.

Requirements

• Software development experience through coursework, projects, or prior internships.
• Ability to work independently and proceed from minimal direction.
• Positive attitude and genuine curiosity in learning.
• Good communication skills.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future.
• Must have one or more courses remaining in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program after the internship.
• T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile employees are ineligible for external Summer Internships; interested employees are directed to Magenta Accelerator.

Responsibilities

• Implement new and improved IVR self-service experiences alongside senior engineers.
• Develop and update call flow logic, following team coding standards and code review practices.
• Help create automated test cases to keep call flows reliable with every release.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies and use call data to understand how work performs.
