Software Engineering Intern
About The Position
Trimble is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to contribute to real-world software projects that connect the physical and digital worlds. The intern will gain hands-on development experience as part of an agile engineering team, write and deliver high-quality code for complex projects, and receive mentorship from industry experts. The internship is scheduled to run from May/June 2027 through August/September 2027 and is offered at locations in Westminster, Colorado; Knoxville, Tennessee; Lake Oswego, Oregon; Dayton, Ohio; Princeton, New Jersey; Sunnyvale, California; and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Travel is not required. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on coding experience in one or more of the following: Python, Java, C, C#, C++, .NET, Ruby, TypeScript, or Linux/Bash.
- Ability to think critically, solve problems, and work effectively independently and within a collaborative team.
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and adapt to new software tools and methodologies.
- Must already possess authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with Robotics Operating System (ROS), Matlab, Angular, or cloud technologies.
- Exposure to agile software development processes or version control tools such as Git.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software features aligned with core product requirements.
- Collaborate with agile engineering teams on complex, multi-dimensional software projects.
- Partner with product managers and developers to gather feedback during beta releases and refine user features.
- Learn and adopt industry-standard coding practices, architecture guidelines, and design patterns.
