The position is responsible for leading a team or teams focused on technology solutions that align with business needs and meet the risk and operational requirements of the Tech organization. This role involves identifying and resolving complex technical, operational, risk management, and organizational challenges for a Line of Business (LOB) or multiple Sub-LOBs. The position will leverage emerging technologies and automation to enhance business efficiencies, accelerate solution delivery, and support business and enterprise transformation and optimization. The role includes full management responsibilities for teammates, encompassing hiring, disciplinary actions, coaching, termination, and performance reviews. In an Agile environment, the role acts as an Agile champion, primarily responsible for delivering high-quality working software, automating manual/reusable tasks, and leveraging engineering practices to deliver business value. This includes oversight of software engineering, unit testing, and support for integration and functional testing, as well as warranty support and knowledge transfer to production support. The developed code must align with the acceptance criteria set by the Product Owner. The scope of this role, differentiating it from other SWE Director levels, is determined by factors such as budget size, headcount, and the complexity of the business line and its related technologies.
