About The Position

Rainforest is hiring a hands-on Software Engineer for its Intelligence Team to build agentic products for customers and internal teams. The initial focus is on customer-facing agents that vertical SaaS companies can embed in their software, alongside internal agentic products. The engineer will help take agent harnesses from prototype to reliable production systems used by many customers, and help shape a new product and team from day one. The role involves end-to-end project work, from scoping through delivery and ongoing reliability as usage grows, while collaborating with development peers and partnering with an incoming product manager. The position requires working from Rainforest’s Atlanta headquarters on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience building agentic products that run in production.
  • Experience building agent harnesses on commercial LLMs, ideally Anthropic Claude and OpenAI models.
  • Strong working knowledge of persistent memory, tool and skill design, and multi-step task execution.
  • Experience building MCP servers or similar tool integrations, including authentication and permissioning for agents acting on a user’s behalf.
  • At least 6 years of software engineering experience, including the last 2 years focused on agentic or LLM-based systems.
  • Comfort working as an individual contributor who scopes and leads projects without direct reports.
  • Ability to work from the Atlanta headquarters on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AWS, Bedrock AgentCore, or open-weight models.

  • Manage data retention and security using AWS Bedrock AgentCore products.
  • Enforce policy at the harness level so actions attempted by Rainforest’s agents are checked against clear rules before execution.
  • Anticipate problems that arise as agentic products scale.
  • Build internal agents for teams across Rainforest, beginning with the Risk team.
  • Scope and lead projects within the squad and partner closely with an incoming product manager.
  • Ship agentic products and maintain their reliability as usage grows.
