About The Position

The Software Engineer provides direct input to the overall engineering process and team meetings. The role requires an in-depth understanding of system architecture and the software development lifecycle, along with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks from a team perspective. Collaboration is essential to work across platform and product areas, solve problems, design solutions, and improve product quality. The engineer designs and develops reliable, efficient solutions independently or as part of a team; prepares technical documents such as design specifications; and integrates NoSQL and relational data storage solutions. The role uses Azure services, including Functions, Logic Apps, App Services, Containers, Cosmos DB, and Event Hubs, and messaging patterns such as REST, AMQP, and Kafka. The engineer helps ensure application capacity, responsiveness, and quality; reduces issues and defects; and maintains organized, automated, high-quality platform code and data. The role also guides junior team members on software design and development practices. Work is performed under general guidance, with varied assignments requiring interpretation and independent decisions. Highly preferred experience includes Apigee API Management, HTTP and REST standards, API security and authentication protocols, GUI-based API testing tools, SQL, and Datadog observability capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to understand system architecture and the software development lifecycle in depth.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and make independent decisions on varied assignments.
  • Collaboration and problem-solving skills for work across teams, platforms, and products.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with Apigee API Management, including API proxy design and configuration; gateway policies such as rate limiting, spike arrest, and quota enforcement; and fault handling and error flow management.
  • Strong command of HTTP response status codes, RESTful standards, and diagnosing API behavior across the request/response lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and troubleshooting OAuth 2.0 flows, JWT generation and validation, API key management, and basic authentication.
  • Proficiency with GUI-based API tools such as Bruno, Postman, SoapUI, or Insomnia for manual requests, payload debugging, and end-to-end integration testing.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying, analyzing, and validating data in relational databases.
  • Hands-on Datadog experience with APM, log aggregation, dashboard creation, and real-time alerting.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop solutions to problems independently or within a team, and maintain efficient, reliable code.
  • Create technical documents, such as design specification documents.
  • Integrate NoSQL and relational database storage solutions.
  • Use Azure services, including Functions, Logic Apps, App Services, Containers, Cosmos DB, and Event Hubs.
  • Use messaging patterns such as REST, AMQP, and Kafka for system-to-system communication.
  • Ensure applications perform with high capacity, responsiveness, and quality.
  • Find solutions that reduce issues and defects.
  • Maintain organized, automated, high-quality platform code and data.
  • Guide junior team members by recommending software design and development opportunities and best practices.
  • Perform related duties as required.
