The Software Engineer develops, integrates, and evaluates simulation components and interfaces for rotary-wing training systems, including MH-60R/CG and CH-53K use cases. The role involves modern C++ development, code review, debugging, performance optimization, and producing maintainable implementations. It also investigates timing, concurrency, networking, and deterministic behavior in real-time or distributed simulation environments. The engineer performs hardware and software integration and testing, develops and executes test procedures, investigates defects, resolves integration issues, supports regression testing, and assembles verification evidence. Systems may include cockpit I/O, displays, audio, control-loading or motion systems, instructor/operator stations, and avionics interfaces. The role also uses Python scripting, test automation, and data analysis to investigate system behavior and make testing more repeatable. The position supports simulator qualification through objective testing, Qualification Test Guide development and execution, validation, and discrepancy management. It applies DIS/HLA interoperability, TCP/UDP networking, multithreading, and hardware I/O to distributed simulation. AI-assisted tools may be used responsibly, with results independently validated.
