About The Position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Level 3 Software Engineer to join the Ground Software team, specifically supporting the FORGE C2 Mission Management team. This role involves translating a legacy product into a modern solution within a small, agile team environment in Longmont, CO. The engineer will be responsible for taking the product from a designed solution to a delivered product, working through technical challenges to implement legacy capabilities in a modern architecture. This is an early-mid career role (level 3) typically requiring 3+ years of professional experience and a BS degree.

Requirements

• An active Secret clearance is required for consideration.
• Experience in software design and development.
• 3+ years of Java programming experience in a professional environment.
• Linux OS background/Experience developing in a Linux environment.
• Must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with mission management.
• Demonstrated understanding of agile development within a scrum team.
• Strong mathematics background.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and test the Mission Management codebase.
• Interact across agile teams to ensure interface compatibility.
• Coordinate with the product owner, scrum master, and product manager to plan user stories and ensure successful completion of the tasks.
• Work through technical challenges to implement legacy capabilities in a modern architecture.
