About The Position

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Software Engineer (P1) to join its Sensors Test Engineering team in Burnsville, Minnesota. The role supports production of commercial, military, and defense sensor products by defining, designing, developing, troubleshooting, and integrating test software onto manufacturing test solutions. The successful candidate is expected to learn quickly, work as an individual contributor, solve problems with curiosity, and take accountability for customer deliverables. The engineer assists with researching, designing, developing, and testing software solutions and networks, and resolves day-to-day technical issues by troubleshooting software and electrical devices on the production line. Working collaboratively with engineers, operators, and technicians, the engineer develops test software to requirements and completes validation and verification before release to production. The role also includes designing major components or portions of functional test software, presenting findings and technical information, and developing processes, procedures, and best practices for test software design and development in a manufacturing environment. The position offers opportunities to learn how to adapt machine and equipment designs to factory and production conditions; develop software that communicates with and controls electrical equipment and systems; understand the life cycle of test software and test systems in manufacturing; and work with a team to solve challenging manufacturing design problems.
