About The Position

We are seeking a Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems. This role involves working on processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems. The engineer will work individually or as part of a team, reviewing and testing software components, resolving problem reports, and providing input to system design, including hardware/software trade-offs and requirements analysis. The position requires adherence to documented requirements and utilization of appropriate development methodologies.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must have TS/SCI clearance w/ active polygraph (last polygraph must be within the last five (05) years)
• Must have fourteen (14) years' experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline (i.e. Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.) from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four (04) years of additional relevant experience on projects with similar processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience software development tools such as Git, Kira, Confluence and other Atlassian Products
• Experience with Linux Command Line
• Experience with Java or similar programming language
• Understanding of Container Technologies such as Docker
• Understanding of web development and APIs
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
• Ability to learn new software and technologies related to backend or frontend development
• Experience with Spring Boot
• Experience with JavaScript, ReactJS specifically
• Experience with Apache Kafka
• Experience with Apache Nifi
• Understanding of Docker/Docker Compose
• Experience with build tools, such as Maven
• Experience with SQL databases

Nice To Haves

• CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with continuous integration frameworks such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Infrastructure Tools: Experience with IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Container Platforms: Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Cloud Experience: Proficiency with major cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
• Works individually or as part of a team.
• Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
• Resolves software problem reports.
• Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
• Candidate would be expected to be “On call†to support system operations.
