Software Engineer - Hybrid
About The Position
Genesis10 is seeking a Software Engineer for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution in Charlotte, NC. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. The role involves joining a team that supports a large, complex collections application undergoing modernization. The project focuses on migrating a legacy application from Java Server Faces to React, with an emphasis on building out the microservices back end. The ideal candidate will be a strong Java developer proficient with modern frameworks and capable of contributing to a significant digital transformation initiative.
Requirements
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience
- 5-7 years of professional Java development experience
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and building microservices
- Experience with Core Java for back-end development
- Proficiency with Kafka, including the ability to perform filters
- Experience with React for front-end development
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Mongo DB
- Cloud technology experience (Openshift, Kubernetes, or similar)
- Ability to read and understand legacy Java code
- Previous experience in the financial services or collections industry
Responsibilities
- Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Software Engineering.
- Contribute to large-scale planning related to Software Engineering deliverables.
- Review and analyze moderately complex Software Engineering challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Contribute to the resolution of moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Software Engineering deliverables.
- Collaborate with client personnel in Software Engineering.
- Work primarily on the back end, supporting the migration to a modern technology stack.
