About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with experience in embedded real-time software development. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop operational performance requirements, interface software and hardware components, and collaborate on system design. You will support all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and formal testing. This position requires strong C++ skills, experience with high performance and multi-threaded programming, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience of embedded real-time software development (VxWorks/Linux).
  • Demonstrates depth of knowledge in programming languages, compilers, and application execution.
  • Strong C++ skills.
  • Experience with high performance and multi-threaded programming.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and ability to learn outside of core discipline.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of professional experience in software development particularly utilizing object-oriented programming methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Department of Defense programs.
  • Experience with hands-on software development and troubleshooting on embedded targets utilizing an RTOS (Real-Time Operating System).
  • Working knowledge of signal processing, control systems theory, or networking fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with key protocols such as IP, UDP, TCP, IPSec, DDS, or SNMP.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with cross-functional team members to develop operational performance requirements, interface software and hardware components, and collaborate on system design.
  • Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and formal testing.
  • Contribute to software test plans, procedures, and other relevant technical documentation.
  • Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects.
  • Utilize a variety of software languages on Windows, Linux and embedded real time operating systems.
