The Commercial Engineering & AI (CEAI) team partners with stakeholders to transform Microsoft's commercial business into a frontier organization. They achieve this by combining AI-native engineering, modern platforms, and deep commercial insight to reimagine how work is done at scale and with impact. Their mission is to unlock new operating methods through intelligent systems while fostering an environment where teams can undertake their most meaningful work. The Seller Experience team is specifically focused on revolutionizing how Microsoft sellers understand and interact with their earnings through MSX-E. They are seeking a Software Engineer - User Experience (UX Engineer) to contribute to building a new, modern seller earnings experience from the ground up. This role is UX-centric, emphasizing the creation of intuitive, responsive, accessible, and trustworthy experiences that simplify complex earnings and incentive information for sellers. The engineer will utilize modern frontend technologies like React and TypeScript, collaborating across product, UX, service, data, and AI domains to deliver cohesive end-to-end experiences. A significant aspect of this transformation involves integrating AI-powered and agentic capabilities into the seller's workflow, allowing them to ask questions, explore earnings data, and receive relevant assistance through natural interactions. The ideal candidate possesses strong software engineering and UX development fundamentals, customer empathy, attention to detail, and a proactive approach. They will work alongside engineers, product managers, UX designers, and partner teams, gaining experience from concept and design through implementation, deployment, and operational management.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Experience translating complex, data-rich business scenarios into simple and intuitive user experiences.
Experience integrating frontend applications with APIs, cloud services, authentication and authorization, and distributed backend systems.
Experience building or integrating AI-powered applications, copilots, agents, conversational experiences, or intelligent user experiences.
Experience working with Azure or comparable cloud platforms and with telemetry, observability, production engineering, incident management, or live-site operations.
Experience working collaboratively across engineering, product management, UX design, data, and business teams.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate modern seller-facing UX experiences, with a primary focus on frontend engineering using React, TypeScript, and modern web technologies.
Build the next generation of MSX-E Earnings experiences, transforming complex earnings, incentives, performance, quota attainment, payment, estimation, and reporting information into simple and intuitive experiences for sellers.
Design and implement AI-powered and agentic experiences that enable sellers to ask questions, explore information, and interact naturally with the earnings experience.
Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, engineers, and partner teams to deliver end-to-end features from concept and design through production.
Integrate UX experiences with APIs, services, identity, data, and AI capabilities to provide secure, reliable, and cohesive seller experiences.
Build responsive, accessible, performant, secure, and maintainable experiences that meet Microsoft engineering, privacy, accessibility, and compliance standards.
Participate in code reviews and architecture and design discussions and contribute to engineering and UX development best practices.
Use telemetry, experimentation, production signals, and seller feedback to improve usability, product quality, performance, and reliability.
Participate in production engineering and live-site support, including incident investigation, mitigation, root-cause analysis, and durable service-health improvements.
Contribute to AI-native engineering practices, including AI-assisted development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and operational workflows.
