About The Position

We're a small team at Apple betting on what comes next. We believe AI will fundamentally change how people interact with their devices — and we're looking for software engineers who want to build that future. We can't say much about what we're building for our customers. What we can say: the problems are genuinely new and the potential reach is enormous. Beyond the work, we're a collaborative, humble, and curious group that loves learning from each other and building together. You'll work alongside a tight group of engineers, designers, and researchers to bring AI features from early prototype to product. This is 0-to-1 work — from a rough idea on a whiteboard to software running on real devices. You'll have a lot of autonomy in how you get there. What the day-to-day looks like:

Requirements

  • Shipped software that people relied on, and learned something from every hard call along the way
  • Someone who unblocks themselves. When the path isn't clear, they figure it out — whether that means reading the source, building a prototype, or pulling in the right people
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and excited by problems that don't have an obvious answer yet
  • Works well across teams and builds trust with partners in design and engineering
  • Makes the people around them better — through mentoring, shaping technical direction, and the way they approach hard problems
  • Already brought AI into how they write code — and always looking for the next way to use it
  • 5+ years of development experience
  • Strong CS fundamentals
  • B.S. in Computer Science or significant equivalent experience
  • iOS and Swift experience is a plus — but if you're strong in another platform, you'll ramp quickly here.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep experience in one or more iOS/macOS domains: system services, UI frameworks, concurrent application architecture, or performance optimization
  • Practical knowledge of how LLMs work at the lowest level of model design and execution
  • Close to the frontier. You're the person your team comes to when a new model drops or a new technique emerges
  • A sharp eye for detail. You notice what's off and you know when it's right
