About The Position

Markon is seeking an experienced Software Engineer Level 3 to support a Fort Meade customer. The role focuses on developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems for mission-critical operations. Work involves processing-intensive analytics, algorithm development, large-scale data processing, and real-time systems, with an emphasis on software performance, reliability, and compliance with technical requirements.

Requirements

Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph through the customer.
Bachelor's degree.
20+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems.
Experience with software design, development, testing, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of software development methodologies, requirements analysis, and system integration.
Experience evaluating hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, and COTS/GOTS solutions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements.
Develop software solutions supporting advanced analytics, algorithm development, large-scale data processing, and real-time applications.
Review, test, and validate software components to ensure compliance with design specifications and performance requirements.
Troubleshoot software issues, resolve problem reports, and implement corrective solutions.
Apply software development methodologies and engineering best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
Support system design decisions, including hardware/software tradeoffs, software reuse, and integration of COTS and GOTS solutions.
Analyze and translate system-level requirements into detailed software specifications and components.
Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to support software integration, testing, and deployment.
