About The Position

Shield AI’s Software Development Engineer Intern program includes work across user-facing applications, embedded flight software, machine learning models, and systems platforms. Over 10–12 weeks, interns work alongside full-time engineers to analyze requirements, write and debug production-quality code, and ship a real feature or capability using standard Agile development practices. Example projects include building application features or internal tools, developing embedded C/C++ software and testing it with hardware-in-the-loop, training and integrating machine-learning models, and extending platform tools, APIs, or data pipelines. The internship is paid and provides hands-on mentorship, a project contributing to the company, presentations from company leaders, and social and networking events. A job offer may be possible at the end of the internship. Interns are eligible for paid company holidays and may qualify for a relocation or housing stipend. Interns are responsible for arranging their own housing and travel to and from the office location.
