About The Position

Syndio is seeking a Software Engineer to build, maintain, and manage integration platforms that provide scalable, reliable, and secure data flows across systems. The role focuses on designing, building, and optimizing workflows; managing connectors and APIs; and supporting integration performance. It will help shape the company’s data ingestion platform, which supports customer onboarding and the analyses built on customer data. The engineer will develop native connections to HRIS, ATS, and payroll systems, addressing authentication, pagination, rate limits, schema changes, and partial failures. They will improve data refresh performance at scale, make sync errors actionable for customers and Customer Success, and expand the implementation platform in collaboration with Forward Deployed Engineering and Implementation. The work spans a distributed system including a Go API, Temporal workflows, a Python transformation engine, and a customer-facing frontend. The role also involves establishing reusable engineering patterns, documentation, and error-handling conventions. Syndio describes the position as remote-first within commuting distance of Calgary and requires the candidate to be based in Calgary and legally authorized to work in Alberta without current or future visa support. Compensation is targeted at $125,000–$148,000 CAD annually in Canada or $140,000–$160,000 USD in the United States, with final offers based on experience and expertise.

  • Solid SQL skills and the ability to reason about data models and transformations.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, ATS, CRM, or ERP systems and their data models.
