About The Position
Join a team researching, developing, and deploying NLP and machine-learning technologies that power Apple Intelligence on device and on a private compute cloud. The team has built Generative AI experiences for Writing Tools, Smart Replies, and Transformer Models for Keyboard across Apple platforms. It brings together expertise in NLP, software engineering, and machine learning, and emphasizes sharing knowledge, keeping abreast of state-of-the-art developments, and collaborating across Apple teams. The role works at the intersection of NLP, machine learning, and software engineering. It spans text processing, empirical experimentation to build state-of-the-art NLP models, and productizing Generative AI features for Apple. The engineer will collaborate closely with engineering teams working on machine learning and NLP.
Requirements
- Experience writing production software using Swift, C/C++, Objective-C, or Python.
- Good machine-learning fundamentals.
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in computer science or a related field.
Nice To Haves
- Hands-on experience using open-source machine-learning toolkits such as PyTorch.
- Hands-on experience building NLP or Generative AI applications.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
