About The Position

As a Software Engineer III at Walmart, you will lead the design and development of scalable software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. This role involves troubleshooting complex issues, performing root cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement through coding, testing, and deployment. You will manage project requirements, ensure adherence to quality and security standards, and support business needs by providing technical guidance. The position requires strong technical acumen, problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver reliable, high-quality software within established timelines. The SCILS Implementation team manages the deployment and ongoing support of Walmart’s warehouse management system. This includes gathering requirements, procuring infrastructure, deploying the WMS and integrated applications, maintaining system integrations, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring adherence to technical standards and security protocols. The team collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable, reliable solutions. Members apply strong technical skills in platform design, API development, and continuous delivery to support business operations effectively. The team fosters a disciplined approach to development, testing, and maintenance, ensuring high-quality and secure application performance aligned with Walmart’s objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in software design, development, and delivery within Agile environments.
  • Strong technical acumen in object-oriented programming, API design, and platform development.
  • Expertise in debugging, testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
  • Ability to analyze requirements, perform root cause analysis, and develop sustainable technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in coding standards, multiple programming languages, and emerging development tools.
  • Experience leading small engineering teams and collaborating cross-functionally to meet project goals.
  • Commitment to quality, security, and performance in software development and maintenance.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • OR 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Implement automation scripts to support continuous integration and deployment processes.
  • Monitor application performance and conduct maintenance activities to enhance system reliability.
  • Support business needs by evaluating technical feasibility and recommending sustainable solutions.
