Position Summary: This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns. We are seeking an experienced Web Application & System Engineer to support the design, integration, and ongoing administration of enterprise web applications and hosting infrastructure. In this role, you will define and document system architecture across hardware, software, infrastructure components, interfaces, scalability, and high-availability solutions to meet business and application integration requirements. You will also provide third-level support for incident troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution, while managing day-to-day administration activities such as installation, testing, tuning, patching, upgrades, and deployment support across upstream environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated DevOps leadership capabilities.
  • Strong experience with application hosting infrastructure supporting .NET and Java applications.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and deployment processes.

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years of strong experience with Windows operating systems, IIS, and .NET application integration.
  • Understanding of Linux environments and middleware platforms such as WebSphere and Tomcat.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and local/global load balancing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot application integration issues across Windows, Linux, and cross-platform environments.
  • Experience administering Tomcat and WebSphere application servers.
  • Hands-on experience with F5 technologies, including Global Traffic Manager (GTM) and Local Traffic Manager (LTM).
  • Experience working in Agile delivery models and collaborative workspace environments.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD tools and automation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
  • Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
  • Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
  • Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
  • Automates manual release activities
  • Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
