About The Position

The Software Engineer III will coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments. This includes developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, and identifying and addressing improvement opportunities. The role involves requirement and scoping analysis, including creating traceability matrices, risk analysis, cost analysis, and understanding business objectives. The engineer will contribute to the creation of user stories, review coding standards, and select appropriate languages and tools for software development. A key part of the role is to create and configure code, ensuring components meet business/technical requirements, non-functional requirements, and scalability needs. The position also involves building automation scripts for CI/CD, testing, and other processes. Testing responsibilities include test case preparation, strategy, and execution, as well as defect management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. The engineer will conduct complex maintenance procedures, monitor application performance, and evaluate change requests. Program monitoring includes reviewing metrics and ensuring adherence to project milestones.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering or related field; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field plus 2 years of experience in software engineering or related experience.
  • Experience with participating in the discovery phase of projects to create high level design by having system design and architecture discussions for backend systems.
  • Experience with designing and coding backend applications with an object-oriented programming language (Java, Spring Boot or Python).
  • Experience with Cloud platforms - Azure.
  • Experience using version-control for collaboration and continuous integration (Update sets, Git or Bitbucket).
  • Experience creating requirements, designing documents, strategies, and solutions (Confluence).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline management using Jenkins.
  • Experience practicing and implementing AGILE methodologies with project management frameworks including scrum and kanban.
  • Experience with backend workflow automation and system integrations by designing and implementing REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Experience with application monitoring and troubleshooting using platform tools (ServiceNow, Splunk, SonarQube, Android).
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit tests.
  • Experience translating UI design from a wireframe into functional code using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Experience with Relational database design and optimization (SQL, MySQL, Oracle).

  • Prepares requirement traceability matrix and maintains traceability between business requirements, functional requirements, design, and test cases.
  • Contributes to the creation of user stories for component/module/simple requirements.
  • Reviews coding standards and guidelines, coding languages (JavaScript, Python, C#), frameworks, tools, platforms, quality, safety, and security standards, and emerging tools and technologies.
  • Creates/configures minimalistic code for entire component/application, ensuring components meet business/technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability, and high-scalability needs.
  • Assists in the selection of appropriate languages (JavaScript, Python, C#) and development standards and tools for software coding/configuration.
  • Builds scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD, Testing, or any other process.
  • Identifies and creates test cases for the component/module.
  • Executes test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component.
  • Tracks and analyzes defects for the component/module and carries out regression testing to fix defects.
  • Analyzes defects from past projects/solutions to avoid recurrence.
  • Troubleshoots performance and availability bottlenecks for the application.
  • Conducts complex maintenance procedures for applications independently.
  • Monitors and evaluates the performance of the application by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics.
  • Performs maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering activities.
  • Analyzes application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data, and evaluates change requests.
  • Reviews program metrics and ensures adherence to the project against approved milestones and timelines using CI/CD.
