About The Position

Collins Aerospace's Strategic Solutions team is seeking an exceptionally motivated Software Engineer II who is passionate about collaborating with High-Performance Teams to create mission-critical solutions supporting Mission Systems. Our Software Engineers work in an exciting, adaptive, and engaging environment enabling rapid learning to drive success. This position will support the shaping of the future of NC3 defense systems for the armed forces. The role involves requirements analysis, development, and delivery of high-quality mission-critical software. Requirements

Good foundation in Object Oriented Programming and Java.
Professional experience with Open Mission Systems standard.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
Active and existing security clearance required after day 1.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge in UML, SysML, MBSE and CAMEO Modeling tools.
Knowledge in requirements analysis, requirements decomposition and derivation.
Knowledge in virtualization.
Knowledge in microservices, containers and orchestrators.
Knowledge in CI/CD.
Understanding Agile SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).

Responsibilities

Team up with a high-performance software team, collaborating with fellow Software engineers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Software Architects, and other teams.
Support requirements decomposition and derivation to produce Software Requirements.
Participate in the design of the capabilities producing UML and SysML diagrams.
Produce high-quality mission-critical software.
Participate in code and related artifacts peer reviews.
Create test cases and tests.
