The Tactical, Communications, and Maintenance Applications (TCMA) team based in Huntsville, Alabama has new opportunities for individuals who want to grow their technical expertise on complex programs and be a part of an innovative and fast-paced avionics business area. Teams are composed of cross-functional engineers working in an AGILE environment (approximately 6-10 people) focused on the design and development of software-only products. Our team focuses on creating avionics solutions for both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, including the integration of various radios and surveillance equipment for domestic and international military customers. We are looking for an experienced Engineer, disciplined in Software Engineering to join our TCMA team in Huntsville, Alabama. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing Agile software engineering processes and activities. Role is preferred to be onsite in Huntsville, AL but open to onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA as well.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Experience in software architecture, design and development using languages such as C, C++, Java, Ada and Python.
  • Experience in an Agile.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.​
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate software in C++ and Python within the Agile framework.
  • Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with other engineers in the planning, design, and development of military technology.
  • Work closely with cross-functional research teams to evaluate the effectiveness of early software prototypes.
  • Independently perform multiple tasks given support from a mentor.
  • Implement requirements, detailed design, implementing software, integration, and verification in accordance with software development processes.
  • Accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborate with teammates to make the best decisions.
