About The Position

The purpose of the role is to design, develop, and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. This involves the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration with business objectives. Collaboration with peers, participation in code reviews, and promotion of a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing are essential. Staying informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contributing to the organization’s technology communities is also expected. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and implementation of effective unit testing practices are crucial for ensuring secure, reliable, and well-designed software solutions.

  • Provide support to the Run the Bank (RTB) team and handle urgent production issues for Barclays’s Enterprise Security Master (ESM).
  • Perform application development and support using Barclays Way methodologies, including change requests and client request lifecycle management via Jira.
  • Guide and assist in onboarding activities for Barclays Reference Data systems, ensuring product functionality meets business requirements.
  • Integrate data distribution with the latest technologies for global use, serving as the SME in the US for various data applications like regulatory reporting and trading desks.
