About The Position

Bose Corporation is seeking a Software/DSP Engineer Co-op to join its research lab in spring 2027. The co-op will help develop next-generation wearable and out-loud product experiences, with the goal of helping people hear better, enjoy music more, and achieve more. The position lasts six months, starts in January 2027, and is full-time at 40 hours per week in person. The role focuses on optimizing and porting DSP and sensor algorithms to hardware, validating and distributing algorithms, collaborating on software integration, and creating demonstrations for colleagues and business partners.

Requirements

Currently a rising senior B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Knowledge of embedded DSP.
Strong programming experience in C/C++, MATLAB, Simulink, and Python.
Bluetooth protocol experience.
Familiarity with DSP for real-time applications, acoustics, and mathematics.
Experience with cross-group and cross-cultural collaboration.
Creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.

Nice To Haves

Demonstrated sensor experience through an internship, co-op, class, or personal project.
Familiarity with radar, IMUs, transmitter/receiver principles, and sensor applications.
Familiarity with common tracking algorithms and principles such as Kalman filters.
Familiarity with hardware such as amplifiers, signal generators, transducers, and microphones.
Interest or experience in music or acoustics.

Responsibilities

Optimize DSP and sensor algorithms for the hardware target.
Port, validate, and distribute new algorithms.
Collaborate with other teams to integrate and expand existing software components.
Create demonstrations for colleagues and business partners.
