About The Position

As a Research Analyst Co-op at Highland Strategy Group (HSG), you will support the consulting team by developing a pipeline of subject matter experts for primary research. You will identify and engage prospective experts across industries through LinkedIn outreach and cold calling, conduct structured outreach calls to collect preliminary information, and coordinate expert interviews. This co-op offers early-career students hands-on professional experience in a fast-paced environment and the opportunity to develop communication, organizational, and research skills.

HSG is a rapidly growing boutique strategy consulting firm based in Boston, Massachusetts, founded in early 2021. The role works closely with Associates to understand project-specific expert profiles and tailor outreach. Requirements

• Currently enrolled at Northeastern University and eligible for a co-op placement.
• Exceptional verbal communication skills, including confidence and comfort speaking with strangers by phone and through LinkedIn.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to track multiple workstreams.
• Comfort with high-volume outreach and persistence and a positive attitude in the face of rejection.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage potential subject matter experts through targeted LinkedIn outreach and cold calling.
• Conduct structured outreach calls with prospective experts and administer a brief questionnaire to capture preliminary information and build understanding of new markets.
• Coordinate and schedule expert calls for the consulting team, managing logistics from initial agreement through a confirmed calendar invitation.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of outreach activity, expert pipeline status, and contact information.
• Work with Associates to understand each project's target expert profile and refine outreach accordingly.
