About The Position

Apple’s Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization is seeking a quality engineer for its Apple Retail Apps and Services Quality Engineering team. The role focuses on quality engineering and automation for the eCommerce platform, including continuous quality analysis, identifying automation opportunities, defining test approaches, and implementing scalable solutions. The engineer will work with software engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, ensure comprehensive test coverage and system testability, and maintain high product-quality standards.

The position includes designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and suites; creating and executing test plans and cases; and proposing solutions to streamline testing. The engineer will report testing status and quality metrics throughout testing phases and compile quality outcome summaries at project completion. The role also involves debugging complex technical issues, improving workflows, reducing regression test cycles, and exploring ML and AI in automation. It requires adaptability in a fast-paced environment with frequent context switching and collaboration across multifunctional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent related work experience.
• At least 5 years of hands-on quality engineering automation experience.
• Strong programming experience in Java, JavaScript, or Python, with the ability to build reusable test frameworks.
• Deep understanding of test design methodologies, CI/CD practices, and large-scale test automation.
• Experience with test frameworks or tools such as Playwright, JUnit, or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Adaptability in fast-paced environments with frequent context switching.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with JUnit or TestNG.
• Programming experience with automation scripting, tools, or test harnesses such as Playwright or Selenium.
• Solid understanding of software build tools and CI/CD integrations.
• Experience testing AI/ML applications.
• Experience with security testing.
• Solid understanding of development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and QA processes.
• Experience developing test plans, tools, and test frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and suites for the eCommerce platform.

• Identify workflow gaps or inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
