Software Development Engineer in Test

Integrated Home•Miramar, FL

About The Position

Integrated Home Care Services (IHCS) is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test to establish and evolve automated quality engineering systems for MedTrac, its operational platform for coordinated home care benefits. MedTrac has been in production for more than two decades and processes real operational work for patients every day. This is a founding role in the quality engineering function. The engineer will learn MedTrac hands-on, explore the application, map business-critical workflows with users and developers, and develop a risk-based regression strategy. The role begins with meaningful manual testing to understand what matters, with the explicit goal of automating as much of that testing as possible. The team intends to build automation on an agentic testing platform that uses AI to generate and maintain tests. The platform has not yet been selected, and the engineer will participate in evaluating options. The engineer will then build a regression suite for the CI pipeline and post-deployment smoke tests to verify production releases, while helping shape quality engineering practices as the function grows.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in software testing or software development, including at least 3 years building and maintaining test automation.
  • Experience building a regression strategy or test suite for an existing application with limited documentation, starting from exploratory testing rather than a ready-made test plan.
  • Hands-on experience with modern UI automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language used for test automation.
  • Strong REST and/or SOAP API testing skills and SQL skills to validate results directly in the database.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable platforms.
  • Hands-on use of AI-assisted testing or development tools, with a practical, evidence-based view of where they help and where they do not.
  • Clear written communication, including defect reports and test plans that can be understood without a follow-up meeting.

Nice To Haves

  • C# experience; the application uses a .NET stack. TypeScript, Python, or Java are also welcome.
  • Experience evaluating or selecting testing tools or vendors, especially AI-driven or self-healing test platforms.
  • Experience testing Microsoft .NET web applications backed by SQL Server.
  • Experience creating synthetic or de-identified test data for complex relational data models.
  • Healthcare or other regulated-industry experience, including working around PHI or similar sensitive data.
  • Experience operating in a SOC 2 or HITRUST environment.
  • Familiarity with performance or load testing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Explore MedTrac and map business-critical workflows with the people who use and build the application.
  • Develop a risk-based regression strategy for an existing application with limited documentation.
  • Perform manual testing early in the role to understand application behavior and identify what should be automated.
  • Evaluate agentic testing platforms that use AI to generate and maintain tests.
  • Build and maintain an automated regression suite that runs in the CI pipeline.
  • Create post-deployment smoke tests to verify every production release.
  • Help shape quality engineering practices as the function grows.

  • Medical, vision, and dental coverage.
  • Short- and long-term insurance.
  • 6+ days of holiday pay.
  • 17 days of PTO.
  • Employer-paid life insurance.
