About The Position
The Software Development Engineer in Test II will report directly to a special project team redesigning and enhancing ISO ClaimSearch®, an all-claims database for the insurance industry. The role works closely with a small number of agile teams and owns the processes and tools used to deliver automated regression and functional testing. The SDET will lead testing across multiple applications built with varied technologies, including test planning, hands-on manual and automated testing, automation development, defect investigation, and coordination of end-to-end testing with other technology groups.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience breaking complex software systems.
- Experience evaluating software architectures and designs for potential quality, performance, and scalability weaknesses or limitations, and developing automated tests to exercise those areas.
- A strong command of manual and automated testing methodologies and general quality concepts.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum.
- Experience scripting software automation testing products, including Selenium and Cucumber with Java, and Playwright with TypeScript.
- Experience developing automation frameworks using Selenium Java and Playwright with TypeScript.
- Experience with TDD, BDD, and ATDD.
- Experience designing automation testing tools to test databases and APIs.
- Experience with mobile automation testing tools.
- Experience with LoadRunner, JMeter, and Gatling load testing.
- Extensive knowledge of web technologies and experience testing web APIs and REST services.
- Experience automating complex systems integration and end-to-end testing.
- Experience integrating Selenium regression scripts and Playwright scripts with continuous integration build servers such as Jenkins and Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities
- Own the SDET process, including developing, implementing, and maintaining test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
- Analyze requirements and design specifications to develop test cases.
- Recommend test automation approaches, tools, and frameworks.
- Develop test infrastructure and custom automation tools to expand test coverage and enable non-functional testing.
- Perform manual and automated tests for websites and applications.
- Prioritize test execution.
- Find and report defects with detailed, accurate, and concise reproduction steps.
- Assist developers in discovering and researching defects, and recommend system enhancements.
- Own testing across multiple applications built with varied tools and technologies.
- Analyze requirements, prepare test plans, and build test cases to validate functionality under development.
- Support and execute functional and non-functional application testing to ensure software meets requirements before production changes.
- Coordinate with technology groups across sites to plan and execute end-to-end testing.
- Drive test automation efforts, including planning, hands-on scripting, and oversight of other resources working on automation.
- Lead the development, execution, and documentation of the SDET process.
