Software Developer - Core Services
About The Position
U-Haul is seeking a Software Developer for its Core Services - Contract Software Development Team, which supports multiple critical systems in the U-Haul software ecosystem. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining robust, scalable APIs and services, along with supporting user interfaces, using the Microsoft stack, .NET, C#, SQL, Postgres, modern front-end frameworks and libraries, and related technologies. The systems use Kafka event streams to emphasize resiliency and scalability. The developer will work with Azure resources, troubleshoot and optimize software, and collaborate with teams across the company to integrate applications and address business needs. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. The listed location is 2727 N Central Ave, Phoenix, Arizona 85004.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software development experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages and design.
- Strong database experience.
- Experience with Kafka or similar event streams and producer/consumer or pub/sub relationships.
- Strong understanding of modern software design principles and their application to scalable systems, as well as modern software best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently and professionally with team members and other teams.
- Self-starter with a commitment to personal and professional growth.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain communication while responding to other teams' questions and requests.
- Experience with the Microsoft stack and Azure DevOps and Cloud Portal; Kibana, Elasticsearch, or Grafana; Dynatrace; data design, creation, querying, and stored procedures; WCF, REST, or Web APIs; and API testing tools.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly, with an interest in exploring new technologies.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with cloud platforms and services.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Scrumban Agile methodology.
- Previous experience designing scalable APIs.
