About The Position

The Software Developer in Test will join the Core I/O Quality Engineering team within the Core OS organization. The team validates the functionality and stability of firmware device drivers and frameworks for high-speed I/O interfaces, including USB, Thunderbolt, PCIe, DisplayPort, and accessory management software. This entrepreneurial role leads quality efforts for one or more technology areas and works in a fast-paced environment with development and cross-functional teams. It calls for strong communication, multitasking, technical, and debugging skills, as well as creativity, motivation, and a results-driven approach.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience or skills.
• Solid operating system and embedded systems fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Python, C++, or C programming.
• Experience developing, testing, or debugging device drivers, firmware, or other low-level software.
• Experience working with I/O technologies such as USB, PCIe, or display technologies.
• Experience using protocol analyzers and oscilloscopes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and own automated tests for new and existing technologies.
• Own the overall testing and quality of the technologies assigned to the role.
• Contribute to development of test frameworks and tools for large-scale testing on shipping and in-development Apple systems.
• Investigate and analyze issues across hardware and software interaction layers.
• Work closely with engineering and project management teams to ensure quality releases.
