About The Position

Rival Insurance Technology is a Canadian insurtech company building a next-generation insurance platform for brokers. The company is remote-first and emphasizes technical quality and AI-native software development. It is hiring an Intermediate Full Stack Developer for a 12-month contract to build and improve production software and take ownership of features end to end. The role involves working with a small engineering team on a platform used by insurance brokers across Canada. The developer will use AI tools, including Claude Code and GitHub Copilot, as standard parts of daily development, and work with agentic AI workflows. They will build and maintain front-end interfaces and back-end services using C#, ASP.NET, and Azure-hosted infrastructure; design RESTful APIs; and participate in the software development lifecycle from design through deployment and post-release support. The role also involves testing, code reviews, debugging, and collaboration in an Agile environment with developers, product managers, and technical leads. The position is remote-first across Canada. Rival uses artificial intelligence to support parts of its hiring process, with all hiring decisions involving a human. The company is committed to accessible employment practices and offers accommodation during recruitment upon request.
