About The Position

Prime Air is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer who combines superb technical, research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. Experience with firmware development, and debugging issues spanning the hardware/software boundary are critical. Previous experience in developing safety-critical software is also valued. A successful candidate will be comfortable working with a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with our research teams. Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience
• Experience in embedded development in C/C++

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems, or experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware
• Experience with board bring-up and debugging hardware through the use of logic analyzers, oscilloscopes etc.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test critical features for embedded applications and platforms that power the Prime Air Drone.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement fixes for complex functional and performance issues.
• Collaborate with our hardware teams and vendors to enable new computing hardware and functionality.
