About The Position

Prime Air is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Development Engineer who combines superb technical, research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. Experience with firmware development, board bring-up, and debugging issues spanning the hardware/software boundary are critical. Previous experience in developing safety-critical software is also valued. A successful candidate will be comfortable working with a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with our research teams. Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience
• Experience in embedded development in C/C++

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience writing low level drivers, or experience with interrupt service routines
• Experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware, or experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• Experience with board bring-up and debugging hardware through the use of logic analyzers, oscilloscopes etc.
• Previous experience in developing safety-critical software

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test critical features for embedded applications and platforms that power the Prime Air Drone.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement fixes for complex functional and performance issues.
• Collaborate with our hardware teams and vendors to enable new computing hardware and functionality.
