As the Software Delivery Coordinator, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing embedded software delivery for mining and construction applications. You will help align cross-functional teams, define and manage work scope, and ensure delivery priorities support broader program objectives within an Agile environment. This role is focused on driving program execution excellence by facilitating coordination across teams, monitoring programs against milestones, and proactively identifying and managing risks, dependencies, and constraints. You will help maintain alignment with quality standards, delivery schedules, and stakeholder expectations while enabling effective communication across engineering, product, and program teams. The Software Delivery Coordinator actively participates in Agile team and program cadences, supporting backlog refinement, sprint planning, and execution tracking. You will contribute to improving visibility, coordination, and delivery predictability for embedded software initiatives, supporting Caterpillar’s mining and construction products and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Fluency in English and French (both written and spoken) is preferred to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders and ensure accurate interpretation of information.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Data Gathering and Reporting: Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical status into clear, actionable updates for diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting large-scale or multi-team programs, including coordination across geographically distributed teams.
  • Exposure to embedded systems constraints and integration challenges, including hardware/software interactions.
  • Understanding of quality and release management processes, including readiness reviews, defect tracking, and validation cycles.
  • Ability to proactively identify gaps, drive follow-through, and improve coordination practices to enhance delivery predictability.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) concepts and tools is a plus.
  • Certification(s) such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe, Agilist (SA), PMP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Agile planning and execution activities by preparing comprehensive status updates, coordinating cross-team inputs, and maintaining clear visibility into delivery progress, priorities, risks and upcoming milestones.
  • Partner with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure readiness and completeness of delivery artifacts, including technical inputs and documentation required for planning events, design reviews, system integration, and release activities.
  • Contribute to planning activities by helping sequence work, identify and manage dependencies, and coordinate follow-up actions to ensure alignment with team and program commitments.
  • Monitor and track execution across assigned features, workstreams, and milestones, maintaining up-to-date reporting on progress, risks, issues, an action items while providing clear and timely communication to technical and program stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify, escalate, and help drive resolution of delivery risks, blocks, and cross-team dependencies, enabling informed and timely decision-making by technical and program leadership.
  • Collaborate across software, systems, architecture, validation, and program teams to improve coordination, resolve execution challenges, and support successful, integrated delivery outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by helping enhance delivery visibility, coordination practices, and predictability within Agile processes and tooling.
  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management.

  • Pay Range: $96,260.00 - $120,320.00
  • Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
  • Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
