Softgel Operator I
About The Position
This entry-level position supports Softgel Operations, including cleaning equipment, spreading Softgel capsules on trays, and operating the Softgel drying tunnel. The role is performed under close supervision and requires compliance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). The operator loads, unloads, and arranges capsules and trays for drying; inspects capsules for physical defects; and operates the Softgel sorting machine according to product specifications in the batch record. The position also supports machine operators with checks and supplies, maintains clean and organized production areas, and reports quality or equipment issues. Flexibility to work extended hours when required is expected.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of related experience.
- Successful completion of an OSHA-compliant Respirator Fit Test.
- Adherence to departmental SOPs and current cGMP.

Responsibilities
- Evenly spread Softgel capsules onto trays to support optimal drying.
- Maintain an adequate supply of tray paper and empty trays at the rear of the dryer.
- Clean and maintain processing equipment, tools, and production areas according to SOPs; keep clean rooms and process areas organized and compliant with cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Notify machine operators of poor-quality Softgel capsules observed from drying baskets or malfunctioning machine components.
- Assist machine operators by checking the temperature of medicine or gelatin as needed.
- Keep lubricant buckets filled and available for machine operation.
- Load and unload Softgel capsules onto trays for drying, replace towels in drying baskets as required, and stack and arrange trays in drying tunnels.
- Inspect Softgel capsules for defects such as irregular shapes, leaks, and other abnormalities.
- Operate the Softgel sorting machine according to product specifications in the batch record.
- Abide by Amneal's current rules and regulations.
- Work extended hours when required.
- Perform other functions as assigned.
