Softgel Operator I
About The Position
This entry-level position supports Softgel Operations under close supervision. Duties include cleaning equipment, spreading Softgel capsules on trays, and operating the Softgel drying tunnel. The role requires adherence to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and product specifications in the batch record. The position also requires successful completion of an OSHA-compliant Respirator Fit Test. The hourly base salary ranges from $18.00 to $21.00. Individual compensation may vary based on qualifications, geographic location, and other relevant skills. Requirements
- High school education or GED curriculum is preferred.
- One or more years of related experience.
- Successful completion of an OSHA-compliant Respirator Fit Test.
- Adherence to departmental SOPs and current cGMP.
Responsibilities
- Evenly spread Softgel capsules onto trays to support optimal drying.
- Maintain an adequate supply of tray paper and empty trays at the rear of the dryer to support continuous operations.
- Clean and maintain processing equipment, tools, and production areas in accordance with SOPs.
- Keep clean rooms and process areas organized, tidy, and compliant with cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Notify machine operators about poor-quality Softgel capsules observed from drying baskets or malfunctioning machine components.
- Assist the machine operator by checking the temperature of medicine or gelatin as needed.
- Keep lubricant buckets filled and available for machine operation.
- Load and unload Softgel capsules onto trays for drying.
- Replace towels in drying baskets as required and properly stack and arrange trays in drying tunnels.
- Inspect Softgel capsules for physical defects, including irregular shapes, leaks, and other abnormalities.
- Operate the Softgel sorting machine according to product specifications in the batch record.
- Abide by Amneal’s current rules and regulations.
- Work extended hours when required.
- Perform other functions as assigned.
